A skills-focused workshop covering common skin-related surgeries and wound management procedures encountered in general practice. This session includes principles of wound assessment, preparation, closure strategies, and the application of tension-relieving techniques and local skin flaps. Participants will develop their approach to tissue handling and decision-making to support safe, efficient, and confident performance of skin surgery and wound management in everyday clinical practice.
Wound closure can be a big source of stress for surgical practitioners. Complex wound closure is a skill typically learnt from experience. Our Surgical Wound Management workshop will provide you with a systematic approach to closing complex wounds, along with practical training to develop your confidence. With the support of our experienced facilitator, you can receive the best advice on closing even the most complex of wounds.
Selection Criteria:
Vets wanting to gain surgical confidence must be already confident in routine spay and surgical basics.
