Vet Nurses

Where clinical precision meets compassionate care. Students develop hands-on proficiency in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, pain recognition, triage, and infection control — grounded in real-world application and NAC SOC standards. This course prepares you to think critically, communicate confidently, and contribute meaningfully from day one.

Key learning areas:

  • Conduct structured patient assessments, including hydration, PCV/TP trends, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Use clinical equipment, including SpO₂ monitors and Doppler BP, confidently.
  • Administer and manage IV fluid therapy across maintenance and surgical rates.
  • Perform wound and bandage care, and apply appropriate isolation protocols.
  • Write, implement, and update SMART-goal nursing care plans.
  • Calculate RER, apply illness factors, and integrate nutrition into patient care.
  • Recognise early signs of refeeding syndrome and feeding intolerance.
  • Document feeding intake and escalate anorexia appropriately.
  • Deliver clear clinical handovers and confident client communication around chronic illness.
